This song originated from a request by my girlfriend's 8-year old daughter, Ilana, to write a song about her and her kitten, Louie. I asked Ilana questions about her experiences with Louie, and the wonderful answers and stories she shared became the basis for the song lyrics. Her drawing of bottle-feeding Louie is featured as the cover art. You're most welcome to download the song for free. If inspired to give, any money generated from downloads of this song will be gratefully accepted and donated to environmental/wildlife conservation organizations.

I came into this world half-cat,
and without a doubt about which one's my better half.
Oh, say what's on my mind with just a meow or a hiss,
cuddle up to Mom to get my salmon fix!

Even before my delivery,
they say I cured my biped mom of her big cat sneeze.
I may not have gotten whiskers or a tail,
but come near my kitty and hear a big cat wail!

'Cause in the boat of my dreams,
a lost fur baby opened his eyes to me.
I took him home, now we're a team.
My mama said he could stay,
now we're playing and napping our days away,
I named my kitty Louie and now I'm a cat-mom too.

If you took one look you'd see,
that my sweet baby Louie's as cute as can be.
Pouncing on my hand when I give him a rub,
learning how to swim in his big cat tub.

When I leave my little Louie clings,
because he misses how I do all my cat-mom things.
When it comes to showing love or keeping his sheen,
my tongue is never above licking him clean!
