Antlers
04:35
|
|||
I've been looking outside for love, since my mother gave me blood.
I've been reaching for a hand to hold, or pull me from the mud.
Well, that screaming cry is softer now, it's learned poems and some songs.
But when in doubt, it's been holding out for a savior all along.
The deer's antlers have grown, but I still end each day alone.
Is one enough? And what is one? I see galaxies of memories of everyone I love.
Do I need two, when there's so much I cannot do?
But maybe one is good for making love that's true.
I might see a reflection of you, while I'm searching for the truth.
Or you'll find me on the street somewhere, when my heart's without a ruse.
And the urge to run away from myself has taken it's toll.
And I begin to find within a savior in my soul.
The deer's antlers have shown, that I can feel okay alone,
but is one enough? And what is one? I see galaxies of memories of everyone I love.
Do I need to two, when I see the magic that you do?
But maybe one is good for making love that's true.
Watching in the dark, as the kindling catches the spark.
One's not enough.
I'm not just one.
I'm these galaxies of memories of everyone I love,
so send a cue if there is something I can do.
'Cause more than one is good for sharing love that's true.
'Cause more than one is good for sharing love that's true.

Lay My Weary Head
03:18
|
|||
Lay my weary head to rest a while,
for I know the wound is very deep.
I had tried my very best but now,
I am left with this test.
Beauteous visions I had seen,
are cloaked by clouds of callous grays and greens.
My heart shakes before the sky for now,
while I wait for the clouds to break.
Memories before the fall,
come and pick me up and make me whole.
I need you now to help love pour,
from what is like an open sore.
Deep beneath the pain,
there's a welling up of inner strength,
so lay my weary head to rest for now.
I will do my very best.
And learn to trust my heart again,
and fly,
fly,
fly.

Holding You Tonight
04:18
|
|||
When you're on the road,
and you feel a load,
you have to take,
with you through the day,
and the dreams that we made,
seem like they will fade,
into the morning light,
I'll be holding you tonight.
When the hours are long,
and you hear a song,
about sweet love,
and you've had enough,
of running around,
always grinding through town,
and have lost the will to fight,
I'll be holding you tonight.
Let the memories of the warm night we would spend sighing,
dry the tear drops,
all those little tear drops,
you have been crying.
We've been crying.
Oh, I want you near,
and I want to hear,
about your day.
Help carry the weight.
How my heart has been caught,
by the joy of the thought,
of when everything seems right,
when I'm holding you tonight.

Ride On
04:39
|
|||
Under cascades of moonlight,
a sight for sore eyes is the world you create.
I'm wondering just how to relate,
with something so pure,
that no one can tame.
Lines of time swarm around you,
while I'm standing here wishing I knew,
one useful thing I could do,
and help build a trust,
for something so true.
Sent my prayers to the angels,
to stretch my soul 'til it's wide enough that you could lay,
lay by my side,
without losing your time,
or space,
or love,
and ride on.
I'm too worn for hoping,
but too drawn not to try and dream you and I.
Even while knowing such fate,
can be born or die,
with a glimpse in your eyes.
And if I'm not what you're looking for,
may their soul be wide enough that you could lay,
lay by their side,
without losing your time,
or space,
or love,
and ride on.

Watching the River Flow
04:16
|
|||
Paused upon the bridge,
to watch the river flow.
The same old back way home,
but I can't tell where to go.
Listening to the memories crash,
on rocks weathered by change,
and the sounds fill up my ears tonight.
Too many homes to lean.
I gotta stand up on my own.
Like a flower in the sky,
wondering how it's supposed to grow.
Or a life that flows without a sense,
of a reservoir or place.
But the rhythm soothes my ears tonight,
tonight,
tonight,
tonight.
I know life can have its broken dreams,
but I can't help breaking more.
Oh, the sounds fill up my ears tonight.
Walked across the bridge,
and took the back way home.
Remembering how sometimes,
I know which way to go.
I know life can have its broken dreams,
mmm, but I can't help breaking more.
Underneath my skin,
I pray for strength to begin.
And the rhythm soothes my ears,
tonight,
tonight,
tonight,
tonight,
tonight,
tonight.

Shenandoah
04:02
|
|||
The old Missouri is a mighty river.
Away, you rolling river.
The red man's camp lies upon her border.
Away, we're bound away,
across the wide Missouri.
A white man loved an Indian maiden.
Away, you rolling river.
With notions sweet,
his canoe was laden.
Away, we're bound away,
across the wide Missouri.
Oh, Shenandoah, I love your daughter.
Away, you rolling river.
It is for her that I cross the water.
Away, we're bound away,
across the wide Missouri.
Oh, Shenandoah, I long to hear you.
Away, you rolling river.
Oh, Shenandoah..
Away, we're bound away,
across the wide Missouri.
Away, we're bound away,
across the wide Missouri.

End of a World
04:31
|
|||
(This is a warning system test)
Mapping out the shores of rising seas.
Beholding the unfolding elder's prophecies.
A band of distant voices ran to sound off the alarm,
but their speaker set was drowned out,
from amidst a materialist explosion.
Strengthen our relation to the sun.
Let the crying Earth sing through our lungs.
Let's end a world but as we've know it, yeah.
Shifting paradigms in how we think.
Regenerative structures growing on the brink.
Glimpses of our beautiful world tell us to hold on,
and free our aspirations from the hope and fear about what's to come.
Strengthen our relation to the sun.
Let the crying Earth speak through our lungs.
Let's start a world as we could know it.
Morning's come,
a new day has begun.
The worms of greed inside our heads,
let's put them in our flower beds,
of late-Capitalist compost,
to let new life through, oooh.
Hear the cracking parts of the machine,
opening up gaps to move beyond this dream.
Heal our mother Earth from all we've done.
Let her crying voice sing through our lungs.
Ohhh,
Ohhh,
Ohhh.
Let's end a world but as we've known it.

Dancing Along the Shore
03:16
|
|||
Drifted back home from work.
No more your clothes upon the floor.
I bid my farewell to one last trace,
of that misty scent called your perfume.
All night long, I felt so low,
so low.
Dreaming that you'd come back to me.
I said no need for sorrow.
I know you can't stay here anymore.
It looks like I got here too late,
and now there's so much you've got to do.
You know it's okay, babe,
so long,
so long.
But I'm wondering if you will come back to me.
And will you remember,
how we'd dance along the shore alone?
Now what will become of us?
If anything.
I could not ever know,
which way the wind is gonna blow,
or if it will bring you back to me.

Dressed and Ready
02:50
|
|||
My dear friend,
we're meeting again,
though it feels like the start.
The thought in our hearts,
is falling like a star over a meadow,
with neither of us knowing how far.
In loves past,
I had daydreamed
one too many romantic scenes,
I believed to be true.
Still I'm dressed and ready to do another night with you.
Even though that I know you must be waiting for a sign that points to me,
every moment we share I've been knowing that there's no one else I'd rather see.
Though I've tried,
tried not to sing,
what the future may bring,
since we don't have a clue,
still I'm dressed and ready to do,
yeah, I'm dressed and ready to do,
oh, I'm dressed and ready to do,
another night with you.

Unsecretly Loving You
03:50
|
|||
Longing,
and feeling,
but never revealing,
that one thought I hold the day through.
Been so hopelessly feeding,
a silence misleading,
the loneliest pleading that you knew,
of my secretly loving you.
Like an open book,
in the dark,
no one can read what's in my heart.
I'd light a candle,
but this showing's been too much to handle.
I'm getting impatient,
with my facade of complacence.
There's so much more that I want to do,
than just secretly loving you.
Holding your hand,
kids in the yard.
Telling you just what I feel in my heart.
The word is out,
and everybody knows.
Isn't that the way that love grows?
So my friend if you can hear me,
I'm sorry for this fear in me.
I just want to tell you the truth.
I don't know if I'm ready,
a stranger to going steady,
but I know what I don't want to do,
and that's my secretly loving,
what's so secret about loving?
I want to be unsecretly loving you, you, you.
